What is a Segway?
~ The Segway, Human Transporter is the first of its kind, a self-balancing, personal transportation device designed to go anywhere people do. Easy to use and operate, the two-wheeled Segway sports high-tech gyroscopes that automatically respond to your body's movements, "sensing" when it should speed up and slow down. You stand on a small platform between left and right wheels as you hold onto handlebars at a comfortable waist height. The Segway handles the balancing for you, so that you're always upright as you glide through any environment.

Are the tours canceled in case of rain?
~ No, tours run rain or shine. Ponchos are available for anyone that needs them and the Segways themselves run just fine in all weather.

Do we go inside the museums and monuments?
~ The tour does not enter the museums and monuments since the Segways are so much fun! You will receive a great orientation however, and you'll know exactly where you want to go after the tour.

Are Segways safe for children or people with disabilities?
~ Although riding a Segway is relatively easy, the District of Columbia requires that all riders be at least 16 years of age. You will have the opportunity to practice on the Segways so that everyone feels comfortable and ready to go out and conquer Washington DC.

Weight Limit
Riders must weigh at least 100 pounds and not exceed 260 pounds.

Your safety is always the highest priority, therefore each tour begins with an orientation session. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to ride. Unfortunately, pregnant women will not be permitted to participate.

Note: All riders will have to complete and sign a liability waiver (those under 18 will need to have an adult sign for them). Participants must provide a damage waiver including a damage deposit of $499.95 to be charged on a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express). This charge will be authorized, but immediately canceled at the end of the tour if the equipment is returned undamaged

4 DAYS MINIMUM ADVANCE BOOKING REQUIRED. 8 PERSON MAXIMUM PER ORDER. Only advanced riders are permitted and this tour is limited to 4 participants. Tour does not include hotel pick-up; departure is from a convenient Fishermans Wharf location to be specified on your E-Ticket. You must be at least 16 years of age to ride. Riders must weigh at least 100 pounds and not exceed 260 pounds. Pregnant women will not be permitted to participate. Reserve online, or call us toll-free at 800-410-8233.
