They're guided by GPS (Global Positioning System), which means that the car always knows where you are, even if you don't. As you drive, it tells you where to turn and what you're passing, and it waits patiently if you want to stop. As soon as you turn your GoCar back on, the tour picks up where it left off. Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final. Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center. PLEASE NOTE: Rentals must be returned during office hours. Office is open until 8:00 pm during summer months but closes at sunset during the rest of the year. So, for example, the latest a 4-hour tour may begin during the summer is 4:00 pm; but, during the winter months, the latest a 4-hour tour may begin could be as early as Noon - based on the time of sunset for that day. Bright yellow and sporty, GoCars look great, are simple to operate and fun to drive. They are street legal and fully equipped with turn indicators, break lights, a horn and headlights. A 50cc gasoline powered engine provides more than enough power to handle the steepest inclines hilly San Francisco can throw at them. Dual disc front breaks ensure crisp, reliable stopping power. Our tour can take anywhere from one hour to a full day. That's the best thing about it - you're on your own schedule, not a tour bus operator's. The GoCar tour begins near Fisherman's Wharf and takes you past the most spectacular San Francisco sites - from the bay, to the ocean, to the famous parks, neighborhoods and streets in between. To rent a GoCar, you must at least be a licensed driver 21-years of age. Our cars are approved for use on city streets, but not the bridges or freeways. The 3-wheeled cars seat two and have a lockable trunk for your things. Their small size makes parking a breeze, and in San Francisco, that's a major bonus. Renters must present a valid drivers license and be at least 21 years of age. All renters must be able to read, understand and sign the GoCar liability release and waiver form. Payment and Security Deposit: You will need to present a major credit card for a $500 refundable security deposit. An imprint of the renter's credit card, along with a completed and signed rental agreement and liability waiver are required prior to the release of the vehicle. For vehicle insurance, as with rental cars, the driver can elect to purchase the collision damage waiver (CDW) - $9 per GoCar, covering the car for the day, limiting liability to $300. The renter takes responsibility for the GoCar and their actions while driving the GoCar. Safety: Helmets are provided and are required by California law. All riders receive a full orientation. Where can you go: Exploring San Francisco is easy and fun with a GoCar. You can choose to follow the tour, or you can take your own tour of the city. Cars are not allowed on Interstates or on the Golden Gate or Bay Bridges. Parking: GoCars can be parked in Motorcycle Parking or can legally share a metered parking space with a car if the meter is fed and the car isn't blocked.
