With the completion of the new bike path through the Presidio National Park a "great bike ride" has now become the "bike ride of a lifetime." Follow the bike path along the San Francisco Bay towards the Golden Gate Bridge while passing several exciting points of interest, both historical and modern. Now you're ready to BIKE THE BRIDGE! 1.7 miles of easy pedaling on the bridge sidewalk. Stop and take advantage of the many photo opportunities along the way! Vista Point awaits you on the north side of the bridge where you will take in the awesome panorama of the San Francisco Bay. Then it's a downhill coast to beautiful Sausalito where you are greeted with an abundance of fabulous restaurants for fine bay view dining, art galleries and many boutiques.

At this point you have the option to return via ferry cruise across the bay back to Fisherman's Wharf; or, for those riders who just cannot get enough excitement and adventure, your journey could be just beginning!

Follow the bike path along Richardson Bay and check out the floating homes of Sausalito's houseboat community and take the easy side trip to Old Mill Park in Mill Valley.

Visit the world's tallest trees, the Redwoods, at the foot of Mount Tamalpais for the ultimate tree hugging experience at the John Muir Woods National Monument.

Ok, when you're ready to let go of the trees, hop on your bike and continue on the Bay Trail along the peninsula to the charming seaside town of Tiburon. Here you can dine in one of the fine restaurants with spectacular views.

When you're ready to call it a day, return on the Tiburon ferry and as you're cruising back, scan the horizon to reflect on the incredible journey you have just experienced.

You can do all or part of the suggested rides above, and return to Fisherman's Wharf by bike or ferry. We'll provide you with easy-to-follow bike maps. Ferries depart regularly from both Sausalito and Tiburon, returning to Fisherman's Wharf.

THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR EXTENDING THE TOUR "ON YOUR OWN" AND YOU MAY RETURN YOUR BIKE ANYTIME WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE TOUR DEPARTURE TIME.

This ride is fun for beginners to advanced. We have had bikers as young as 5 and as old as 88, and they say it was the best thing they had done in San Francisco.

IS IT FLAT?
Yes, this trip is mostly flat except for two small hills that are easy to ride. The middle of the bridge is 220ft above sea level, then you coast downhill into Sausalito.

Not at all. The new bike path is easy to follow using our custom bike map which includes several points of interest and exciting side trips.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR/BRING FOR MY BIKE RIDE?
Weather can vary from San Francisco to Marin County. To be comfortable throughout your ride, we recommend you dress layered. Windbreakers are great! Optional Accidental Damage Insurance is available for $3 per day at the time of check-in for your tour.
